Short on Time

…as well as motivation, so I’m relying on screenshots to provide today’s post!

I also waste time scrolling Reddit - I rarely post anything, but now I have the dubious distinction of having my first comment removed for being “simplistic, off-topic, or unhelpful”!! Ha! As I said in my comment, I might post in the relationships forum just to see if anyone responds - but I know what the answer is: Alex is supposed to receive his first paycheck Friday and I will be done, baby, done!

  1. Sounds like the moderator was the one who is "simplistic, off-topic, and unhelpful". The original poster would know from your response that they are not alone in this difficult problem because lots of people struggle with this issue and it is not easy to solve. It's not easy to let your baby starve no matter how old it is. I do agree that at some point they have to be forced to grow up or some of them never would but we have become a society mostly who has no concept of empathy and no compassion. This girls parents need to be the ones to force them into therapy. They both desperately need it. Some people are mature at 18, others at 30, some never grow up. I think I grew up at 30. Though I always took care of myself I was not a proper adult.

    1. Yep - there were also an entire string of comments after mine which were also removed for being "simplistic, off-topic, generally unhelpful" - I did not have a chance to read them. Reddit is generally a godawful place, but I have made a few peer-based connections (mostly in my long Covid group), so I continue to venture back there...
You hit the nail on the head with "no empathy"!

    2. The moderator sounds like a complete butthole. I was once a moderator for a couple hundred recipe sites on yahoo. There were 4 of us and none of us ever treated our members like this.

    3. Absolutely, Reddit is a cesspool by many parameters - however, I just made the (virtual) acquaintance of another kind, kindred soul in my long Covid group... It's good to not feel so isolated

    4. I completely understand. When I had long haulers no one even knew what it was. I was recommended to check out groups for how to cope.

  2. "Anecdotal" might fit, but the bottom line, those of us here "get it"! Hang in, Val!

    1. "The plural of anecdote is not data" is what we are fond of quoting in my veterinary group - but it's always helpful to know one is not struggling through this alone... (Thanks)
